Road work for Mid-Missouri from June 17-28, 2013

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the period of June 17-28, 2013.

Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures, and delays can be expected. MoDOT reminds the public to buckle up, slow down, follow posted signing and drive safely through work areas.

Cole County

• Route B over the Osage River bridge north of St. Thomas - Bridge rehabilitation work continues. One lane is open, and temporary traffic signals are moving traffic through the work area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

• Route E between U.S. 54 and Route B - Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life. The operation is scheduled to begin this week. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Drivers should lower their speeds through the area. Motorists should expect delays. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Route U between U.S. 50 and Route C - Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life. The operation is scheduled to begin this week. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Drivers should lower their speeds through the area. Motorists should expect delays. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Boone County

• Stadium Boulevard at I-70 - Construction of a diverging diamond interchange continues. Motorists should be prepared for periodic street and lane closures and delays. Construction is scheduled to be completed in winter of 2014.

• I-70 over Hominy Creek west of exit 131 - Bridge and pavement replacement in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues. Westbound traffic will experience narrowed lanes through the work area. Occasional nighttime westbound lane closures are possible for the duration of the project. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

• Route Z at I-70 - Bridge replacement, shoulder widening, roundabout construction and resurfacing continues. Crews are grading and filling dirt in preparation for the construction of a roundabout north of the interchange. The eastbound ramps leading from I-70 to Route Z are now open. The entire project is scheduled for completion in August.

• I-70 between Rangeline Road and Garth Avenue - Bridge maintenance in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place June 23-27. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Callaway County

• U.S. 54 over Auxvasse Creek, south of County Road 158 - Bridge maintenance in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place on Tuesday. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.

• U.S. 54 over Stinson Creek in Fulton - Bridge maintenance in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place June 24-27. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.

• Route F over Stinson Creek in Fulton - Bridge maintenance will take place Monday through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Route KK between County Road 227 and County Road 229 - Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Wednesday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Route RA between Route J and the end of state maintenance - Roadside maintenance will take place on Wednesday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Camden County

• Missouri 5 bridge over the Lake of the Ozarks at Hurricane Deck - Bridge replacement continues. Much of the work currently taking place will not affect traffic. However, traffic could be stopped briefly to allow equipment to be moved. The entire project is scheduled for completion in spring 2014.

Camden and Morgan counties

• Missouri 5 between U.S. 54 and Route O - Roadside maintenance will take place Monday through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Cooper County

• I-70 between mile markers 94 and 106 - Roadway resurfacing and guardrail replacement in the eastbound lanes continues. One eastbound lane is open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Cooper and Moniteau counties

• Missouri 87 between Route O and I-70 - Roadway resurfacing, widening of shoulders, and installation of rumble strips continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Maries County

• Missouri 42 over the Gasconade River, west of County Road 335 - Bridge maintenance will take place Monday and Tuesday. One lane will be open through the work zone.

Miller County

• Missouri 42 between Missouri 17 and Missouri 134 - Shoulder widening work continues. Crews are currently working to build dirt embankments along the roadway, causing one lane to be closed. A pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. Asphalt paving of the roadway and shoulders is under way. A width restriction of 10 feet is in place between Route C and the city of Osage Beach. The project is scheduled for completion later this month.

• Business 54 in Lake Ozark - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Missouri 17 between Charcoal Kiln Road and Airport Road - Roadside maintenance will take place June 24-27. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Route D between Columbia Avenue and the end of state maintenance - Roadside maintenance will take place Monday through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Moniteau County

• Route T between Missouri 87 and Route C - Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life. The operation is scheduled to begin this week. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Drivers should lower their speeds through the area. Motorists should expect delays. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Morgan County

• U.S. 50 at the Lamine River Bridge west of Syracuse and 50 at the Union Pacific Railroad Bridge west of Syracuse - Bridge deck replacement continues. One lane of each bridge is open, and temporary traffic signals will move traffic through the work area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Osage County

• U.S. 50 between U.S. 63 and Route W - Construction of new lanes continues. Much of the work currently taking place will not affect traffic. The entire project is scheduled for completion in fall 2014.
