A Jefferson City man was placed on two years unsupervised probation after pleading guilty to a second-degree property destruction charge from February.
Carson Lako, 21, must also serve a 10-day shock detention sentence in the Cole County Jail.
According to Jefferson City Police Department reports, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of East High Street for a suspicious activity call.
A witness contacted police after observing Lako vandalizing mailboxes and street signs in the area. Officers arrived within moments of the call and apprehended Lako.
After he was placed under arrest, officers found items, such as stickers and permanent markers, used to deface property that matched the areas vandalized.
In addition, an inventory search of the vehicle Lako was in revealed stolen street signs and marked police department traffic cones, a small quantity of marijuana and marijuana- smoking paraphernalia, and multiple cans of spray paint.
