Master gardener training will be held 6-9 p.m. on Mondays, from Aug. 19-Nov. 11, except Labor Day, at the Cole County Extension Center in Jefferson City.
Specialists and professionals will teach topics including soils, plant growth, fruits, herbaceous ornamentals, insects, propagation, vegetables, woody ornamentals, lawns, landscaping, plant disease and composting.
Cost is $135.
Those who complete the course are expected to donate 30 hours of volunteer service to Central Missouri Master Gardener projects before Nov. 30, 2014.
