2nd woman charged in Penney robbery

A second Jefferson City woman has been charged with second-degree robbery and third-degree assault for forcibly stealing items from JC Penney's at Capital Mall on Monday.

Yolanda Johnson, 23, of 1303 W. High St., was charged Thursday.

Lauren Distler, 22, of 2073 Turkey Gulch, was charged Tuesday.

A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement shows Johnson and Distler attempted to steal more than $200 in merchandise.

Johnson attacked a store loss prevention officer and fled the scene.
