It was a great first week for the Missouri softball team as a member of the Southeastern Conference.
The Tigers went 5-0 and two players earned conference honors.
Senior Nicole Hudson was named the SEC Player of the Week and senior Chelsea Thomas was named the SEC Pitcher of the Week.
In the UC-Santa Barbara Tournament over the weekend, Hudson finished the five-game schedule with five home runs and 11 RBI while going 7-for-12. She also pitched Missouri to an 11-3 win against Fresno State.
Thomas struck out 19 total batters in a pair of complete-game performances against Fresno State and UCSB. She didn't allow an earned run in the two wins.
