Girls Basketball: Hickman 65, Helias 43

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The shots just weren't falling for the Helias Lady Crusaders on Thursday.

The Lady Crusaders turned the ball over just nine times against Hickman, but couldn't get it in the bucket, falling 65-43.

Hickman, ranked No. 7 in the state in Class 5, led 23-11 after one quarter, 36-17 at halftime and 57-32 after three quarters.

The Kewpies put all five starters in double figures, led by Cherish Walton's 14 points.

Taylor Hagenhoff paced Helias with 13 points, while Bre Zanders had 11.

The Lady Crusaders (14-7) will host St. James at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

In Thursday's JV game, Helias dropped a 47-37 decision. Darcy Baird led the Lady Crusaders (13-2) with 12 points.
