Several injured in area crashes

An Eldon man sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident around 1:50 a.m. Saturday on Route Y in Miller County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports Johnny D. Elmer, 38, was traveling northbound on Route Y when he drove his vehicle off the right side of the road, overcorrected and crossed the left side of the road, causing his Chevrolet Trail Blazer to overturn.

Elmer was wearing a seat belt. The Blazer was totaled.

He was transported to Lake Regional Hospital where he was treated and released.

Two people from Eldon sustained moderate injuries in a two-vehicle accident Friday around 5:30 p.m. on Missouri 52 in Miller County, the patrol reported.

Mary J. Sears, 80, was driving a Buick Park Avenue eastbound on Missouri 52 and stopped to make a left hand turn.

Pandora L. Prince, 53, was driving her Chevrolet Blazer behind Sears and failed to stop when Sears stopped to turn, crashing into the back of the Buick.

Sears and her passenger, 81-year-old Robert L. Sears, sustained moderate injuries, and were transported by ambulance to Capital Region Medical Center.

Prince, of Barnett, was not injured.

All three people were wearing seat belts.

The patrol also reported a California, Mo., man sustained minor injuries in a 1:15 p.m. accident Friday in Miller County.

Matthew S. Coley, 55, was traveling eastbound on Missouri 42 when his Victory Motorcycle traveled off the right side of the road into a ditch.

Coley was wearing a seat belt.

He was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital where he was treated and transferred to University Hospital in Columbia.
