Jays blank Bulldogs

ROLLA - Corey Beard had a big day at the plate as Jefferson City rolled to a 10-0 victory in five innings against Rolla on Wednesday night.

Beard went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs scored, including a three-run homer in the second inning.

Hayden Strobel went 2-for-2 with an RBI while Gabe Marcantonio added two hits, an RBI and a run scored.

Cameron Carroll picked up the win. He allowed no runs on four hits in three innings. Beard and Travis Hennessy pitched in relief.

The Jays (13-2) play again at 4 p.m. Friday against Eugene in the Central Bank Wood Bat Tournament at Lebanon.

The Jays won the JV game 14-4.

Jeremy Light, Brett Jaegers and Ripken Dodson all had two hits. Jaegers added three RBI while Travis Burris had a home run and three RBI. Adam Grunden was the winning pitcher.

The JV team is now 4-1.
