Dream Factory sends local boy to Disney World

Isaac Hargis gets a hug from Tigger during his trip to Disney World.

Isaac Hargis didn't have to wish upon a star for his dream to come true. Instead, volunteers with the Dream Factory of Central Missouri did their very best to make sure Hargis, and the rest of his family, saw their dreams come true at Disney World this summer.

Since its launch in 1980, the Kentucky-based Dream Factory has grown into the second-largest children's wish-granting organization in the United States. The group helps kids dealing with chronic illnesses.

Hargis, 16, and his twin brother, Evan, were both born with cerebral palsy. Although Isaac's condition is more debilitating - he copes with some cognitive deficits, has difficulty communicating and uses a wheelchair sometimes - he's the braver brother of the two when it comes to thrill rides, said his mom, Tina Hargis.

It was Isaac's condition that made the family ....
