Lady Jays control play in volleyball win over Lebanon

Sometimes keeping a team from getting on a run is just as good as going on one of your own.

"We've worked on competition drills in practice where we are five (points) down, 10 down, 15 down," Jefferson City volleyball coach Christine Meyer said. "We make it a race to get to 25 and get comfortable with situations where we have to win a lot of points in a row."

Practice may not always make perfect, but it can pay off with a win. It did Monday night as the Lady Jays posted a two-game win over the Lebanon Lady Jackets at Fleming Fieldhouse.

The Lady Jackets' best run in the match was three points. And while the longest stretch for the Lady Jays was six on a couple of occasions, it was more than enough as Jefferson City posted a 25-19, 25-18 victory.
