Suspects sought in JC shots fired case

On Sunday, at about 4 a.m., Jefferson City police responded to the 800 block of Southwest Boulevard for calls of multiple gunshots heard in that area.

Upon arrival, officers searched the area and found a vehicle in the 1200 block of Swifts Highway who had been in the area of Southwest at the time of the shots fired.

Although the occupants of the vehicle gave limited information, they had said they were at Club Motivation at a large party prior to the shots being fired on Southwest.

Club Motivation was, according to the witnesses, shut down because of a large disturbance inside the business, although police were not called. Upon everyone leaving the business, many of the patrons travelled southbound on Southwest Boulevard towards the convenience stores on Stadium and Jefferson, and that was when the shots were fired on Southwest.

Upon further investigation by the day shift officers, a number of vehicles were found to have bullet damage at Joe Machens Ford, as well as a residence in the 800 block of Southwest.

No one was reported to be hurt during the shots fired incident.

Officers located almost 30 shell casings of various calibers in the area where shots were fired.

Detectives are now investigating the case.
