Church seeking partner to create foster care transition

Until they turn 18, most of a foster child's major life decision are made by the people responsible for their care.

Then, the 18th birthday comes and every responsibility falls on the teenager at once. Without a support system, a majority of teenagers who "age out" of the foster care system face a dismal future.

The Missouri Baptist Children's Home has several transitional housing programs in cities across the state. The home was looking at opening one in Jefferson City while the Memorial Baptist team was looking for a solution to the aging-out concern, said Tisha Spencer, a member of the missions team.
