Supplier summit set today on Callaway nuclear project

Callaway County businesses interested in providing services in construction of small modular nuclear reactors at the Callaway Energy Center have been invited to attend a supplier summit meeting today in St. Louis.

The event, hosted by Westinghouse Electric Company and Ameren Missouri, will be from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the Renaissance St. Louis Grand Hotel Marriott, and will draw firms from around the state and nation.

Callaway County Commissioner Gary Jungermann said he will attend the event along with Bruce Hackmann, executive director of the Fulton Area Development Corporation (FADC), and Doug Mertens, a member of the FADC board of directors.
