Although young children adapt quickly and learn new languages much easier than adults, it still poses a setback to student success and a stress on the family. El Puente offers a mentoring program for Spanish-speaking young children to help increase their vocabulary and to give them support.
October is National Hispanic Heritage Month. So in addition to a barbecue and silent auction from 4-7 p.m. Oct. 26 at the St. Peter Church Selinger Center, cultural music will be provided by Father Tony Viviano and Enrique Castro.
