Missouri receivers finally come up big in victory

November 12th, 2012 in News

COLUMBIA - Missouri's receiving corps has taken plenty of heat for the team's struggles on offense this season.

Maybe all they need to do is draw up their own plays.

With Missouri trailing Tennessee 28-21 in the fourth quarter and the Tigers facing a fourth-and-12 with less than 50 seconds left, freshman receiver Dorial Green-Beckham approached quarterback James Franklin with a play designed to get him open.

"It's fourth down ... and we had to get some yards, he had a lot of football sense to be able to tell me," Franklin said.

Franklin hit Green-Beckham for a touchdown and Missouri eventually won the game 51-48 in four overtimes.

Franklin admitted Green-Beckham wasn't the first receiver he looked at, but after Franklin rolled to his right, Green-Beckham was wide open in the front corner of the end zone.
