COLUMBIA, Mo. - When Missouri's 2012 season is finished and dissected, it won't be said the Tigers beat themselves. At least not with penalties.

As the Tigers head into the final three games of the season, Missouri has become one of the most disciplined teams in the Southeastern Conference.

"You can be a tough aggressive football team, but play smart," Missouri coach Gary Pinkel said. "And knock on wood, we've been playing smart and we haven't been making so many stupid mistakes."

Through nine games the Tigers have committed 48 penalties, good for 36th nationally and fifth in the SEC.
