Arrest made in JC shots fired incident

On Sunday at around 1 a.m., Jefferson City police officers responded to a shots fired call in the 200 block of East Commercial Way.

When officers arrived, they found two spent shell casings within the alley.

During the course of the investigation, officers obtained information that a subject matching the description of the shooter was within the parking garage, hiding behind a vehicle.

Officers tactically approached the suspect, and heard the sound of a mechanical slide activating (such as racking a round into the chamber on a handgun) from behind a pickup truck within the garage.

Officers ordered the suspect out, and took the suspect into custody.

After searching behind the truck, officers found a loaded handgun and a pipe typically used in smoking methamphetamine.

The suspect, a 24 year old male Jefferson City resident, was arrested and charges for weapons possession and possession of paraphernalia are pending.

No one was hurt during the shots fired incident.
