JC School administrators set belief statements, focus areas

June 23rd, 2012 in News

Paul Pitchford of the Missouri School Boards Association leads Jefferson City school administrators in a discussion Friday morning of the district's strengths and weaknesses in its educational programs, based on an analysis of a variety of test scores and other data.

It's a growing truth of modern education - what happens in today's classrooms is far different from the way teachers worked even five or 10 years ago.

So administrators in school districts throughout the nation are re-examining their existing strategic plans, to see what changes are needed to help meet the needs of today's students.

For more than 50 Jefferson City Public Schools administrators, that review led to this week's development of new "belief statements" to help guide all district decisions. And those belief statements also resulted in a separate discussion, during their two-day retreat, of a series of "focus" issues that district leaders will concentrate on as they work to improve education for all students.
