The Cole County Sheriff's Department is joining other law enforcement agencies in asking for the public's help in trying to find a Jefferson City 16-year-old girl.

The sheriff's department said Friday they received a report on Jan. 5 that Lindsey Marie Miller had apparently left town with her boyfriend Sergio Sayles, 25.

Her mother told authorities Lindsey was not taken against her will.

Sayles, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol, is wanted by law enforcement agencies and is considered armed and dangerous.

A check of court records shows Sayles has a case pending from September of last year where he is charged with second-degree domestic assault in Cole County.

He has pleaded guilty to two cases of felony stealing from August 2008 and May 2011.

Miller and Sayles are believed to be traveling in a dark blue Dodge Stratus with Illinois license plate N416204 and are believed to be going to the state of California.

The last contact they had with anyone was in the state of Arizona.

Since indications are they crossed state lines, the FBI has been notified.

Lindsey is described as having blonde hair, blue eyes, standing 5 feet tall and weighing 130 pounds.

Anyone with information that could lead authorities to this pair should call the sheriff's department at (573) 634-9160, the TIPS Hotline at (573) 659-TIPS or the Missouri Highway Patrol Missing Persons Clearinghouse at 573-526-6178.
