WARDSVILLE - If the Blair Oaks wrestlers are going to win a state team title, they're going to need to focus on that word in the middle - team.

That's because it's going to take an all-around effort for the Falcons to come out on top of the Class 1 Missouri State High School Activities Association Wrestling Championships that start today at Mizzou Arena.

"Whitfield's got a jump on us - they've got 12 wrestlers who qualified," said Blair Oaks coach Tim Karsten, whose team has eight qualifiers. "Brookfield (the defending champion) has nine and Lathrop has eight, so with us, I would think those are the top four teams.

"Then you've got to throw in some other teams to look out for like Trenton, Lawson and Centralia."
