Lincoln picks up two wins at Iowa State Classic

February 12th, 2012 in News

AMES, Iowa - The Lincoln track and field teams captured two wins to highlight a big weekend at the Iowa State Classic.

The Blue Tigers got one win each on the men's and women's side against a field made up of predominantly Division I competition.

On the women's side, the win came from Latoya King, who took first in the seeded 200-meter dash in a time of 24.32. That mark is the best posted this season by anyone in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and is an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time.

On the men's side, Lincoln's win came from Sabiel Anderson. He took first in the 60-meter hurdles in 7.91 seconds, as he was the only man to break the 8.00 mark. It was a Division II automatic qualifying mark and the second-best time of the season for Anderson, who leads all MIAA performers with a 7.88 finish earlier this season.
