With more than 59 percent of the vote, Rick Prather has won the 1st Ward council seat currently held by Mike Harvey.
Prather was up against Tyler Woods and Velma Steinman in the primary race, but because he received more than 50 percent of the vote, no general election will be held in April.
Prather said he was excited to gain the council seat and is looking forward to being on the council and serving the 1st Ward.
