I grew up here in the Jefferson City area; left for college and returned "home." Most of my friends stayed away from coming back to the area. The main reason for all of them was there isn't anything to do in Jefferson City. It was always classified as the "boring" place to be and has nothing to offer a young professional starting their life on their own.
After being back for five years now, I have become active in the community and have found a professional career. I still struggle with convincing my friends and the young professionals my age that living in Jefferson City isn't boring.
I have been involved in the Transformation process for the last year and a half; spent many hours discussing the details and doing research on what this town needs to move us forward into the future. We, the Jefferson City area, are at a stand still right now and many believe have been for years. There is no better time than now to move this community forward in a positive manner.
I am asking for your support and vote on Feb. 7. This is the opportunity to turn the stereotype of Jefferson City from being boring and having nothing to offer into a great community to start you career out, raise your family, and grow together.
