Thanks to the low river level, a stolen vehicle has been recovered from the Osage River.
According to Missouri Highway Patrol reports, authorities were called to the west side of Mari-Osa Delta after a fisherman found the vehicle Wednesday about 170 feet away from the river bank.
It was towed out around 11 a.m. Friday morning and was identified as a 1999 Ford Ranger truck stolen out of Gasconade County in May 2008. It may have been in the river since it was reported stolen.
Members of the Osage Fire Protection District were called to wash the vehicle out since it was full of mud. No body or anything else that could be considered suspicious was found inside.
The owner of the vehicle was contacted and the investigation into the incident was turned over to the Gasconade County Sheriff's Department.
