RUSSELLVILLE, Mo. - Just as new tree roots are taking hold in the recently cleaned soil, the Railroad Park project is coming to life.
In downtown Russellville, beside the old Missouri Pacific railroad line and just a lot over from the original train depot site, a community hub is being built.
Eventually, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, antique lighting and picnic tables will create a perfect place for viewing the community's parades, like the Christmas parade at 10 a.m. Saturday. But it began with the land donation, requiring hazardous waste removal, due to the former gas station's buried tanks.
