Authorities said Wednesday they didn't know how long it might be before they get the results of autopsies performed on a Morgan County couple, believed to have been murdered Monday evening at their home in Ivy Bend.
The couple, Wayne Louis Wells, 82, and Mable Irene Wells, 71, were found inside their home, south of Stover, about 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Dr. M.B. Jones, Morgan County's coroner, ordered the autopsies, which were done Wednesday morning at Capital Region Medical Center.
Investigators said the Wellses had been shot multiple times during an apparent robbery.
Morgan County Sheriff Jim Petty reported that the Wells home's "south door had been forced open, the lights were on and both victims were fully clothed."
