Silver Dollar City rolls out new wooden coaster

BRANSON, Mo. (AP) - Silver Dollar City officials say a new roller coaster at the park near Branson will feature the world's steepest drop on a wooden roller coaster.

The theme park announced the $10 million Outlaw Run coaster on Thursday. It will be ready for operation next spring.

Silver Dollar officials say the drop in the coaster will be more than 16 stories, 162 feet and 81 degrees - nearly vertical. The ride also will be the world's only wood coaster to twist upside down, with a double-barrel roll.

Builders say it will reach up to 68 mph and riders can expect weightlessness at nine locations.
