Tradition carries on despite rain

A lightning quick egg hunter gets the jump on the rest of the 4- to 5-year-olds as she prepares to load up her basket during Saturday's 27th annual Easter egg hunt, co-sponsored by the Jefferson City Jaycees and the Parks and Recreation Department at Memorial Park.

Despite having to dodge rain drops, hundreds of kids, parents and grandparents came out Saturday morning to Memorial Park to enjoy the annual Easter egg hunt sponsored by the Jefferson City Parks and Recreation Department and the Jefferson City Jaycees.

Kids ages 2-7 enjoyed the thrill of running in designated areas gathering as many eggs as they could. Those who couldn't get eggs during the hunt still got eggs thanks to the Easter Bunny who made sure everyone came away with something.
