St. Louisan charged with attacking woman

September 30th, 2011 in News

A St. Louis man has been charged with one count each of forcible rape, forcible sodomy and felonious restraint in connection with an incident that occurred early Thursday morning in Jefferson City.

Johnny Rucker, 43, was being held in the Cole County Jail on a $150,000 bond.

According to a police probable cause statement, Rucker contacted a female in the parking lot of Southern Comfort bar, 510 Ellis Blvd., just after midnight.

The victim agreed to drive Rucker to a gas station on Ellis and then he convinced her to drive him to a gas station on Dunklin Street.

While the victim was driving, Rucker shoved his arm against the victim's neck and threatened to strike her with his fist.

The victim attempted to flee from the vehicle and was physically pulled back into the vehicle by Rucker.

Rucker then drove the victim's vehicle to a location in the 1000 block of Madison Street and parked in a parking spot as far from the street as possible.

The victim again attempted to get out of the vehicle, but Rucker physically restrained her inside the vehicle.

Rucker then had sexual intercourse with the victim by force, threatening to strike her.

A witness attempted to call the victim during the assault and the victim's cell phone was activated, allowing the witness to hear Rucker tell the victim to take her shirt off and "I can take you somewhere they will never find you."

The witness contacted police and the victim was located inside her vehicle with Rucker through GPS capabilities of her cell phone at 1010 Madison St.

Investigators said Rucker has a long criminal history, including a conviction for first-degree sexual abuse.
