Being in a leadership position has always come naturally for Eric Struemph.
The Jefferson City mayor said he's been interested in government since joining the Jaycees after graduating high school. Struemph said it's there that he learned to lead and be part of a team. Through the Jaycees, he said, is also where he met many of the people he continues to work with today.
"A lot of those same people that I was in the Jaycees with are my counterparts in the (Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce) or the county or even on the City Council," Struemph said.
