CAMPO to update regional transportation priorities

The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization is getting ready to update the needs and priorities of the region, asking member communities to submit their project lists later this month.

At the CAMPO board of directors meeting Wednesday, members were told the Missouri Department of Transportation is beginning its process for the next State Transportation Improvement Program, or STIP, which sets the priorities for specific construction projects MoDOT will undertake in the next five years. STIP funds cover highway, bridge, transit, aviation, rail and waterway enhancements.
