Farmers markets cater to local shoppers seeking homegrown produce

If the thought of juicy tomatoes, zucchini and summer squash, farm-fresh eggs and just-picked berries leaves your mouth watering, visit one of the area farmers markets to get the newest pick of the crop.

The Cole County Farmers Market in the Kmart parking lot on Missouri Boulevard opens not a minute before 4 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday.

Meanwhile, Lincoln University had its first farmers market Saturday with much success. And another new market in the area is ....
