Flood Meeting Planned for Jefferson City

The Missouri River is expected to rise to 27 to 32 feet this summer and the City of Jefferson is making preparations for it.

The city's action plan for flood stages beginning at 27 feet is available for the public to view on the city's website at www.jeffcitymo.org. Information on how to prepare your property for a potential flood, how to tell if your property is at risk for flooding and a link to the National Weather Service flood monitor is also available on the website.

The Flood Information Meeting will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Boone-Bancroft Conference Room at City Hall, 320 E. McCarty St. City officials will be available to answer questions from residents regarding the potential flooding.
