Public beaches at Mark Twain and Truman state parks are once again open for swimming. But high bacteria levels and flooding continue to keep the beaches closed at two other state parks.

Missouri environmental officials test the water at state swimming beaches weekly.

The Department of Natural Resources says the Grand Glaize Beach at Lake of the Ozarks State Park remains closed because water samples found high levels of E. coli bacteria. The beach at Lake Wappapello State Park also remains closed due to flooding in the area.

Beaches had been closed at Mark Twain and Truman state parks. But tests this week showed the water there was once again safe for swimming.
