Three Jefferson City residents, including former City Councilman Roy Viessman, invoked God's name Tuesday night, and the need to protect morality, as they asked Jefferson City's Council to find a way to restrict or shut down Cirilla's, a recently opened business they say sells pornography.
But, the city's legal staff told the council, the store doesn't qualify as a porn shop under the city's ordinances - laws that were drafted to strike a balance between the community's conservative interests and the free-speech protections of the U.S. Constitution's First Amendment.
Jan Kruse has been one of the store's strongest critics.
