When Jan. 19 rolls around, there will be no shortage of important announcements to be made in Jefferson City.
While Gov. Jay Nixon will be delivering his annual State of the State address at the Capitol, the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce will be at the Miller Performing Arts Center, rolling out its new plan for how to attract young professionals to the area, the culmination of six months of work and planning.
Missy Bonnot, director of economic development for the chamber, said she found out about the overlap, down to the exact same start time, after reading it in the newspaper Wednesday. However, Bonnot said, the chamber has to stay full steam ahead.
