A proposal to change Missouri's Human Rights Commission law either will help the state attract more businesses - or will set the clock back half a century and allow more instances of discrimination.
Those were the conflicting messages delivered at a House Workforce Development and Workplace Safety Committee hearing this past week.
Rep. Kevin Elmer's bill proposes a number of changes to current law, prompted partly by court decisions, he said.
