Nikki Payne happily greets each customer as they enter her new downtown Jefferson City business: The Snob Shop Exchange.

In her un-snobbish fashion, the social butterfly picked the name after her children ribbed her for being a "snob" at times when she didn't answer her cellphone.

"It's something majorly catchy that we thought sounded really good," she said.

The "gently used" women's clothing shop on 211 E. High St. is one of 17 businesses granted city licenses in November.
