Missouri looks to finish strong with bowl victory

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri's school-record seven straight bowl appearances have been hailed as an accomplishment from players and coaches.

But the results of the last two bowl games have left a lot to be desired for the Tigers.

Missouri looks to change its bowl fortune Monday when it takes on North Carolina in the Independence Bowl (4 p.m. ESPN2-TV) in Shreveport, La.

"The bottom line is, we've got to play better," Missouri coach Gary Pinkel said. "That's preparation and something we hopefully do."
