Living Window display raises issues with organizers

A particular display in the Downtown Living Windows tradition created a stir Friday, leading organizers of the event to look at possibly giving instructions for displays in the future.

At the annual event Friday, Capital Tattoo displayed its first Living Windows contribution - a woman getting a Japanese phoenix tattoo on her hip in front of thousands of onlookers.

Sam Bushman, who organizes the Living Windows event, said in a letter to the editor that this year's event had problems with one window, but that it would not happen again.

"At different times, we had an exposed derriere," Bushman said of the tattoo display. "That didn't sit well with some of the families ... some people were offended by the window."
