Tough, battle-ready training doesn't change unit's mission

Sgt. Craig Lueckenotto fills an essential role by supporting soldiers' supply needs. As a federal civilian employee at the Ike Skelton Training Site, he did that as an office technician for the Missouri National Guard.

But soon his workplace will be Egypt's Sinai Peninsula. And the soldiers he supports will go out each day, potentially in harm's way.

The Guard's Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 835th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion and Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 229th Multifunctional Medical Battalion, both based in Jefferson City, will join forces as a battalion to support Task Force Sinai, part of the Multinational Forces and Observers.
