CORRECTION ON STORY:
An event to meet the new director of the Missouri River Regional Library will be from 7:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the library's art gallery. The day was incorrect in Sunday's News Tribune and in a Monday editorial.
The MRRL Board of Trustees and staff invite community members to drop by for coffee and donuts to meet Helen Rigdon, the new director. The event is part of National Library Week.

Communities nationwide will celebrate the contributions of libraries and library workers during National Library Week this week. This year's theme is "Create your own story at your library."
Missouri River Regional Library in Jefferson City and Osage County Library in Linn are hosting activities and promotions throughout the week.
Americans visited their libraries nearly 1.5 billion times and checked out more than 2 billion items in the past year. Survey results indicate that 68 percent of adults in the U.S. have public library cards, the greatest number since the American Library Association (ALA) started to measure library card usage in 1990.
