Carnival to serve double duty

Church's outreach event also raising funds for March of Dimes

A carnival to benefit the March of Dimes isn't just a fun family event and a church outreach event. It is a fundraiser for a local March of Dimes team that hopes to raise vital funds to help other families with sick children or children born prematurely.

Since January 2008, Angie and Corey Toebben have been founding members of the Heartprints team, which walks each year in the March for Babies, the annual fundraiser for the March of Dimes.

The team is hosting a carnival from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, located at 1529 Southwest Blvd. in Jefferson City

The family-friendly event will also feature entertainment at 11:30 a.m. by Our Saviors Worship Team and a 1 p.m. performance by the Show-Me Showboaters Barbershop Chorus.

For more information about the carnival, Toebben can be reached at (573) 761-4646.
