Kids narrowly escape church roof collapse

FENTON, Mo. (AP) -- Members of a suburban St. Louis church are giving thanks after a group of children got out of the church just before the roof collapsed.

KSDK-TV reports that the kids were inside Faith Church in Fenton around 8 p.m. Tuesday when some of the ceiling tiles fell near them. They got out of the building and moments later, the roof collapsed.

No one was hurt. Firefighters shut off the gas and electricity, and St. Louis County building inspects were planning to evaluate the building.
