Nine young women are preparing to be presented Saturday at the 2010 Miss Fashionetta Debutante Cotillion at Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City. This cotillion has been held by the graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority since 1978.
The young ladies and their escorts have participated in a variety of events, and awards are earned for highest cumulative grade-point average, best essay, talent competition and Miss Congeniality. Scholarships are awarded to women who raise funds through selling of ads and tickets.
The evening will begin with a dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased from any chapter member or by calling Vicki Myers at 573/291-0244.
