Lincoln women post win in two overtimes

Vivian Essuon poured in a game-high 29 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to help the Lincoln Blue Tigers outlast Livin' The Dream 112-102 after two overtimes in women's exhibition action Thursday night at Jason Gym.

Essuon was 13-of-15 from the field.

The way the game started, it looked as though Livin' The Dream would run away with it after racing out to a 10-0 lead just two minutes into the game. They would jump the lead to 15 at the 12:29 mark making it 26-11 following a jumper in the paint by Missy Wilt.

Lincoln began to chip away, cutting the lead down to three a pair of times, before finally breaking through to take their first lead at 41-39 on a layup in the paint by point guard Cherakie Barrett with less three minutes before half.

The Blue Tigers held a 47-46 lead at intermission.

Livin' The Dream led 63-55 in the second half on a layup by Erica Ferguson, which helped cap an 11-0 run over the course of five minutes.

Lincoln came back with an 16-7 run of their own over the next four minutes to take a 71-70 lead following a three-point play the hard way by Essuon.
