Jefferson City hoping to continue trend of strong play in soccer postseason

The Jefferson City Jays repeatedly have elevated their level of play when it comes to the soccer postseason.

"Over the years, we've typically risen to the occasion," Jays coach Eddie Horn said Sunday night as Jefferson City prepared to face Hickman tonight in the Class 3 District 9 semifinals at Suzie Ditzfeld Field in Sedalia today.

Also: Rock Bridge will face Sedalia Smith-Cotton in the first semifinal at 5 p.m. Smith-Cotton, the No. 4 seed, blanked fifth-seeded Washington 2-0 on Saturday.

The championship game is slated for 6 p.m. Wednesday.
