Jefferson City area students raise $2,000 to help Third World family

A "laptop savings" jar was left next to the "Moo-lah Campaign" jar at Lighthouse Preparatory Academy.
An entrepreneurial student who makes and sells jewelry and handbags donated her sales for a week.
Many students chose to substitute rice for their regular meals and give away the difference, and several gave up their morning specialty coffee to contribute.
Checks and sizable anonymous donations came in, too.
