Your Opinion: Join effort to free Dale Helmig

I wanted to speak out about a terrible situation that has been going on for over 15 years now. Dale Helmig sits in prison year after year for something that he didn't do.

I'm reminded of someone like that we all know ... Jesus, he was an innocent man just like Dale, and paid dearly for his innocence too. Dale's case has been proven in a court of law, and by a judge and was found innocent, and yet he still remains. Why?

Chris Koster, our attorney general, sits there holding the key to open this door to his freedom. This is a grave injustice, and keeps an innocent man imprisoned for something that a judge says he is innocent of, but yet he sits there.

I say enough is enough! How can you stand behind all the lies from the sheriff, highway patrolman, and prosecutors in this case, and waste the taxpayer's money. I don't think you were elected to stand behind this type of injustice.

All eyes are on you Mr. Koster - this is a slap in the face to our justice system, and I think that a lot of people are getting tired of all the red tape. This case reminds me a lot of Pharaoh, and Moses in the Bible. Dale has been hopeful many times for his release to no avail, so like Moses said to Pharaoh - Let my people go - I say to you Chris Koster - let Dale Helmig go - it is for such a time as this that the Lord has opened this door for him, and you are trying to hold an innocent man captive.

I have come to believe in a God that makes all things possible, and would like to see his release now.

I think people need to flood the phone lines to Mr. Koster's office, and tell him that you think that Dale needs bonded out before Christmas to be with his family. This is the season, and it is his season, and he deserves to have his freedom - again a court of law, and a judge have declared him innocent...I say let him go how about you?
