Crusaders run into tough Knights

The Helias Crusaders were handed their first loss of the season Friday night, falling to St. Francis Borgia 67-60.

Zach Rockers was held to three points in the first half, but he dropped in 17 in the second half and led Helias (3-1) with 20.

The game was tied at 14 after one quarter, before Borgia (4-2) began pulling away by outscoring the Crusaders 19-10 in the second quarter to take a 33-24 lead at intermission.

The Knights increased their edge to 11 by outscoring Helias 19-17 in the third quarter to take a 52-41 lead heading into the final period. Dylan Gish added 15 for the Crusaders, while Dean Wiley and Deion Hughes had nine points each. Borgia was led in scoring by Ben Reuther, who poured in a gamehigh 24 points. Helias returns to action Friday at Branson. In the JV game, Helias (3-1) fell 46-42.
